Q: Do you need storage bags for breast milk?
A: Breast milk storage bags help free up space when considering breast milk bottles and let you store breast milk in surplus in your fridge or freezer for later use. They are unlike conventional storage bags and are manufactured to keep the expressed milk free of contaminants and preserve the nutritional value.

Q: Can I put breast milk in the fridge right after pumping?
A: If you're not going to use refrigerated breast milk within 2 days of pumping, rather freeze it right after. Alternatively, when using Ameda® Pump 'N Protect 6 oz. Plastic Breast Milk Storage Bags, you can put breast milk in a cooler or insulated cooler pack with frozen ice packs for up to 24 hours after pumping. After 24 hours in a cooler, the breast milk should be refrigerated or frozen.

Q: Is it better to breast pump milk into bags or bottles?
A: In general, it is best to store breast milk in bottles if you are planning to store milk in the refrigerator for a maximum of one or two days. However, it is much better to use and store breast milk in storage bags if you are planning to freeze the milk for longer.
