A: Yes, the product is non-stinging, and non-cytotoxic (meaning it will not interfere with healing).
However, Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film may not adhere adequately if the dermis is exposed andthe affected area is weeping.

A: This product does not interfere with adhesion of 3M™ Medical Tapes or adhesive dressings.

A: Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film may be used to keep skin dry and help reduce friction in an area that is being treated with radiation therapy. The film does not require removal before receiving treatment.

Q: Do the 3M™ Cavilon™ No Sting Skin Barrier Wipes prevent pressure sores?
A: Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film helps to decrease friction, which plays a role in the development of pressure sores. In decreasing friction, Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film may assist in resolving early (reversible) damage from pressure.

Q: Can I use other products with 3M™ Cavilon™ No Sting Skin Barrier Wipes?
A: Avoid use of ointments, creams, lotions, or pastes, as they may significantly reduce the film's effectiveness.

Q: Do I need to remove 3M™ Cavilon™ No Sting Skin Barrier Film?
A: Removal is not necessary. Buildup of the film may look like white scaling but is not harmful. If desired, the film may be removed with a gentle medical adhesive remover. Vigorous scrubbing when removing the film should be avoided as this may cause skin damage. When Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film is used under an adhesive product, it is removed along with the product.
